Privacy Notice

This notice covers this website and the application form, operated by SynapseLabs. It takes effect when you submit an application. If you're accepted, you will see a separate notice covering the band and the app before anything is recorded.
Nothing is sent until you sign
Your answers stay in your browser while you fill out the application. They reach us only when you press the final button, after reading and agreeing to the Beta Program Agreement.
What we collect
- Who you are: your legal name, email address, date of birth, and country and region.
- Your sleep and dreams: how long and when you usually sleep, whether you remember your dreams, how often you dream, and any lucid dreaming.
- Your setup: the phone you use, whether it stays charged near your bed, any sleep tracker you already use, and how many nights a week you'd wear the band.
- A health screening answer: whether any listed condition applies to you. We ask for a single yes or no, and not which one.
- Your agreement: the version you agreed to, the time, your typed signature, your choices, and your IP address and browser type, which our form provider records with each submission.
This site doesn't record any brain data. The application pages don't use cookies or analytics.
Why we collect it
To decide whether you're eligible, choose who receives the first bands, contact you about your application, keep a record of your agreement, protect against fraud, and meet our legal obligations. If you tick the box for updates, we'll also email you about the product. We don't sell this information.
Analytics
The home page and film pages use Google Analytics to count visits, video plays and shares, and to show where visitors came from. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and details about your browser and device. We've turned off Google's advertising features. If your device is set to a European time zone, we ask before it starts, and anyone can turn it off at the bottom of those pages. It doesn't run on the application, privacy or agreement pages, so it never sees your answers.
Who holds it
Application entries are stored by Netlify, which hosts this site and handles the form. We share them with service providers who work for us, and where the law requires. If you opt in to Society, we'll use your email address to arrange your place. Society only receives your data once you've been accepted and recording has begun.
How long we keep it
If you aren't accepted, we delete your application within 12 months, unless you ask us to do so sooner. If you are accepted, we keep it for as long as you take part and for up to 12 months after, and we keep the record of your agreement for as long as the law allows us to rely on it.
Your choices and rights
Email privacy@synapse9.ai to see, correct or delete your application, or to withdraw it. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, including under laws that protect health data and neural data. You won't be treated differently for using them. If we decline a request, you may be able to appeal by replying to our decision.
Age
You must be 18 or older to apply. If we learn that someone younger has applied, we delete the application.
Changes and contact
If we change this notice, we'll update the version above and tell applicants about any material change by email. Questions: privacy@synapse9.ai.
